In 1935 a Scholarship Fund was set up to assist members and members children with their education. Over the years this fund has been kept buoyant with donations from members and branches.
Junior Members may apply in their own right.
Support for the Scholarship Fund is now written into the by-laws in order that the income of the fund is stable and reliable.
Secondary Educational Grants are awarded for one year only, awardees may re-apply.
Tertiary Educational Grants are awarded for the duration of the chosen course.
Application forms for both Junior and Tertiary Educational Grants are printed in the July issue of the Victorian Country Woman magazine each year.
Special scholarships are available for students studying: Performing Arts, Vocal, Instrumental, Agricultural Science, Dentistry and Occupational Therapy.
Tertiary Residential Grant:
Diamond Jubilee Residential Grant - is awarded to a student commencing Tertiary Education who is their first year of study and who needs to live away from home.
Listed below are Post Graduate Awards:
Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Food Technology) The Awardee must undertake the course at William Angliss Institute of TAFE or any other suitable College offering a Diploma of Food Technology.
Environmental Post Graduate Award available to Degree and Diploma Graduates wishing to pursue further study and / or research into any area of environmental science. Awardee must be a resident of Victoria but may take up the award in any other State orTerritory of Australia.
Alice Stewart Post Graduate Diploma in Agri-Business To qualify to enter the course, applicants must be employed in the food and fibre industries. Must have a Degree or Diploma, and a minimum of two (2) years work experience or six (6) years experience in the industry.
Victoria Louisa Craig Health Nurse Post Graduate Scholarship To qualify, one must be undertaking a Graduate Diploma of Health at Monash University, or any other suitable institution offering a Post Graduate Health Nurse Course, and be working or intend to work in a rural setting.
NEW SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
The Association has received monies for additional scholarships from a bequest of the late Mr Alfred Luke Gibbs. It was requested that the Scholarships be named after Mr Gibbs’ late wife, Mrs A A Gibbs. The Scholarship Committee met on 30 June to set up the new scholarships. The recommendation from this meeting was passed at July State Council.
Junior Members are eligible to apply in their own right. Every other applicant’s mother, grandmother or legal guardian should be a member of the Country Women’s Association of Victoria Inc. Applications close 30 September each year. Please use the existing Application Forms from the July magazine or the website.

(four scholarships, each valued at $1,000 per year, awarded for the duration of the course)
Mrs A A Gibbs Secondary Education Grant
(four grants, each valued at $250, awarded for one year)
