AGRICULTURE & ENVIRONMENT

 

The Agriculture and Environment Committee consists of nine members, with an interest in agriculture and the environment, residing in different parts of the state.

 

Regular meetings are held to discuss topics of current interest, including:

Water Management and distribution

Environmental safety

Importation of fruit

Tractor safety

Safety helmets

Bio-fuels

Global warming

Climate change

Kangaroo population and management

Weeds

 

The Inquiry into the impact of public land management practices on bushfires in Victoria has been addressed.

 

Governments are lobbied on many Agricultural & Environmental matters of concern through letters, petitions and resolutions from the Committee, Groups or Branches.

 

Considerable time is spent in research and preparation of accurate information.
