PERFORMING ARTS The Performing Arts Committee organises two competitive Performing Arts Festivals each year and a Public Speaking Competition. The three events are held in various city or country venues. The Song in Costume Festival consists mainly of musical comedy performances. Items include solos and large groups, which sing and dance in costumes suited to the theme of each performance. Each act performs for up to ten minutes. The Choral and Drama Festival includes plays, sketches, mimes and unison readings in the drama section, and large and small choirs, solos, duets, trios and quartets in the choral section.
The Public Speaking Competition is held annually. At the end of each event experienced adjudicators announce the winners and comment on the performances. All participants receive a written critiqué.
